IDEA London is proud to host the IDEA European Cup, as part of the Debate@Europe programme, aiming to showcase the best of European debating in a round-robin tournament in London on December 14-16. The Chief Adjudicator for the competition is Harish Natarajan, CA of Chennai Worlds 2014, while we will be announcing more adjudication team members shortly.
The prize for the winning team (or their institution) is the registration fees for two speakers for Manchester EUDC 2013[1] in August.
Teams from eligible countries[2] will be able to apply between November 1 and November 16. Successful applications will be announced on idebate.org on November 16.
Sixteen teams, one team from each country[3] will be selected based on the following criteria, in descending order of importance:
– Their performance at the European Universities Debating Championships 2012
– Their performance at the World Universities Debating Championships 2012
– Their performance at other international competitions in 2011/12
– Their general debating CV
Registration for the tournament is free for selected teams and adjudicators.
De Nederlandse Debatbond (NDB) stelt zich als doel het wedstrijddebat te bevorderen en ondersteunen in Nederland. Als nationaal overkoepelend orgaan vertegenwoordigt de NDB ongeveer 1.000 leden waarvan de meesten lid zijn van één van de debatverenigingen die Nederland rijk is.
