Here, you will find the American Parliamentary (AP) debate-style regulations as set up by the Debatbond as well as a short explanation video. If one practises AP debate in the Netherlands, one can expect to see debates of these styles. It is originally based on the APDA-style of debate as practised in the United States. Over the years, however, it has started to resemble the British Parliamentary (BP) style. Internationally, it resembles the Canadian Parliamentary debate format the most. The Dutch Debating Championships (NK) was originally organised in American Parliamentary but is currently organised in the BP style.
Here, you will find the British Parliamentary (BP) debate-style regulations as set up by the Debatbond. This is the style that is practised most across the world, such as in Great Britain and Ireland. It is also the official style of the European and World Championships. In the Netherlands, most tournaments also use the BP-style.
